San Miguel def. Converge, 102-95, secures Game 1 of PBA Quarterfinals

San Miguel Beermen escaped a late rally by the Converge FiberXers, 102-95, to take Game 1 of the best-of-5 quarterfinals in the 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup on Thursday, September 26, at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

June Mar Fajardo led the Beermen with a double-double of 25 points (11/20FG), along with 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocks. SMB's new import EJ Anosike, who replaced the injured Jordan Adams, had a solid PBA debut with a game-high 28 points (7/24 FG, 14/16 FT), 11 rebounds, and five assists in 35 minutes of play.

CJ Perez finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds, five assists, one steal, and two blocks, while Kris Rosales added 11 points, including 3-of-5 from three.
