After suffering a 60-73 loss against Chinese Taipei Team B, the Philippines bounced back against the Destiny Samuel-led Malaysian team to get into the win column.
Afril Bernardino led the Philippines with 13 points (5/7 2pts), along with 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 blocks in 18 minutes of play. Jack Animam was one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
