Gilas Pilipinas Men (world #41, Asia #8) defeated Jordan (world #35, Asia #6), 74-66 in the 5th window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers on Thursday, November 10 at the Prince Hamza Hall in Amman, Jordan.
Kai Sotto led Gilas in scoring with 16 points (5/8fg, 2/3 3pts, 4/5ft) along with 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks in 23 minutes of play. Bobby Ray Parks Jr with a solid game of 13 points (4/10fg, 3/9 3pts, 2/2ft), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals while Scottie Thompson was two points and two assists shy of a triple double of 8 points (4/5fg), team-high 13 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal in 28 minutes. CJ Perez finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal.
Gilas committed 20 turnovers while Jordan had 21, PHL shot 28/69 (40%) from the field including 6-of-20 shooting from downtown (JOR - 22/59 fg, 3/25 3pts) and Gilas went 12-of-19 from the free throw line (JOR - 19/30 ft). Gilas outrebounded the JOR 46-40, more blocks 6-3 and assists 24-19.
