The Ateneo Blue Eagles-Pilipinas defeated Universitas Pelita Harapan of Indonesia, 125-39 in the opening game of the 2022 World University Basketball Series on Tuesday, August 9 at the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
The Tab Baldwin-mentored Ateneo Blue Eagles-Pilipinas roster consists of team captain BJ Andrade, Ange Kouame, Dave Ildefonso, Chris Koon, Geo Chiu, Matthew Daves, Kyle Ong, Gab Gomez, Joshua Lazaro, Forthsky Padrigao, Kai Ballungay, Andrew Bongo, Inand Fornillos, Joseph Obasa, Sean Quetevis, JC Fetalvero, Jacob Lao, and Paul Garcia.
The Blue Eagles will play their second game on Wednesday, August 10 against National Chengchi University (NCCU) of Taiwan and will face Tokai University Seagulls of Japan on Thursday, August 11. The WUBS 2022 follows a round-robin format, the team with the best record will win the gold.
