Barangay Ginebra escapes past Meralco Bolts, 94-87 in game 2 of their best-of-3 quarterfinals of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Friday, July 29 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Ginebra ties the series at 1-1 and forces a winner-take-all Game 3 on Sunday, July 31 at 6:30pm at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Japeth Aguilar led the GinKings with 25 points (8/14 fg, 9/13 ft), along with 8 rebounds and game-high 5 blocks in 37 minutes of play. Christian Standhardinger with near triple-double of 15 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and a steal while LA tenorio added 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.
Stanley Pringle delivers in the clutch with back-to-back basket inside the final two minutes to finished with 9 points (4/11 fg, 1/6 3pts), two steals, one rebound and one assist. Scottie Thompson had 11 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
