Gilas Pilipinas Youth U16 Women (2-0) defeated Syria women U16 national team (1-1), 92-86 to grab their second straight win in the 2022 FIBA U16 Women's Asian Championship (Division B) on Saturday, June 25 at the Prince Hamza Arena in Amman, Jordan.
Kristan Geyl Yumul led Gilas with a huge 33 points on 9-of-14 shooting from downtown along with 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 27 minutes of play. Gabriella Ramos with another double-double performance of 21 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 blocks and 1 assist while Naomi Natalie Panganiban with an all-around game of 13 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Philippines will attempt to sweep Group A as it battles Samoa (1-1) on Sunday, June 26 @ 8:45PM in the last day of the preliminary round.
