Gilas Pilipinas Men lost to Jordan-A, 84-74 in the knockout semifinal of the 2021 King Abdullah Cup on Saturday, early Sunday morning PHL time, at Prince Hamzah Hall in Amman Jordan.
Ahmad Al Dwairi topscored for Jordan with 19 points (5/8 FG, 9/13 FT) with 16 rebounds and 7 assists while Cameron Forte added 19 points (7/10 FG) with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
Jordan team outscored the Philippines 28-15 in the first quarter. Gilas committed 10 turnovers in the contest, only shot 30/77 (38%) from the field including 7-of-28 shooting from downtown and went 7-of-10 from the free throw line against Jordan's 22/30 FT.
Angelo Kouame led the Gilas in scoring with 20 points (8/13 FG), 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Jordan Heading added 9 points (3/7 FG), 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal in 29 minutes of play.
