The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) PBA and POC has announced that it will send a team to the 2018 Asian Games basketball competition during a press conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum media room on Sunday before Game 5 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
The SBP and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) board reached an agreement 10 days after its decision to pull out of the quadrennial meet. The Philippines is in Group D alongside China and Kazakhstan. The Men's Basketball 5x5 tournament of the Asian Games begins on August 14. Philippines will open its campaign in the Asiad against Kazakhstan on August 16 (11:00AM).
