Magsumikap na lang kayo na mamaintain kung hindi man ma-improve ang quality ng PBA brand of basketball kasi nakakahiya na kayo, matagal nyo ng niloloko ang taong bayan na bayan kayo ng superstar, best in asia e sa tingin namin di totoo kasi nga amateur player lang d na kayo umobra, selection pa man kayo ika nga cream of the crop ang pinantapat nyo sa amateur na smartgilas. Siguro baguhin nyo training ng mga player nyo, suggestion lang... una train nyo sila kung paano tanggalin ang mga kabog nila sa dibdib kasi maygagaling na sila kaya nga napasok sila ng PBA. Iyon ang nagpatalo sa kanila sa int&#39;l competation puro kabog ang dibdib kaya d makashoot... pangalawa baguhin ang orientation ng PBA bilang organisasyon at player and owner ng teams, sana hindi ang pera ang priority na dahilan kung bakit nandian ang PBA, bakit gustong pumasok ang isang player sa PBA, kung hindi ay karangalan muna sa bayan at mamamayan ang ibigay nila bago ang anupaman. Dahil ang kita o pera susunod na lang yan pagbinigyan nyo ng karangalan ang bayan mamahalin kayo ng bayan at tiyak pangmatagalang suporta ang makakamtan nyo sa amin d lamang sa Liga pati na sa produktong inyong dinadala... un lng po salamat... Talent alone does not guarantee good results. It is easy to say that we tap pba players for international play since they currently the best. But that&#39;s easier said than done. The pba is a commercial league and would not allow its key players to be playing abroad while the season is in progress.<br /><br />Back to gilas, i believe the sbp is doing a good job and are on the right direction. In two or three years time, the Smart Gilas is the best team in the land. Better than the best players in the pba combined. Specially of pros does not catch up with the Gilas players&#39; improvements. It will be an interesting game if that happens. <br /><br />To me there are still some players who could help the National team, such as Norwood, Dillinger and Williams who are still young. But they too must play with the team internationally to improve more.<br /><br />I see a bright future for Ramos and Ababou. If Ramos improves more and can hit the 3pt shoot with more consistency he will be make the team much better. If this happens he can slide down to a shooting guard if we need to go big. Although he will be a little slower in that position.<br /><br />It will also be huge for Slaughter, Fajardo and Al-Hussini to improve for us to really compete.<br /><br />Here is my projected line up for next years Jones Cup, but i will have a better idea once i see how some of the players perform in the pba games. There&#39;s no point in hating one for the other.<br /><br />I think there is no arguing that the best talents individually are in the pba. This is expected because its the premier league in the country. It is where young players dream of playing. To me the big question is, &quot;does the pba allow our players to improve and maximize their potentials?&quot; <br /><br />Over the past several years, while we are in awe with our local players and how they play locally. Other countries have made their strides in basketball playing in their local leagues and abroad. And has in fact surpassed us in terms of basketball supremacy in the region. While we play amongst ourselves they play in tournaments abroad and improve their level of play. This is one of the reasons why i think our players growth stagnates. To get better you have to play against the best to get better. Our coaches&#39; system seem to have depended and patterned their coaching to american basketball and don&#39;t seem to appreciate and learn from international coaches. I also appears to me that because we have a long history of basketball that our coaches think highly of themselves since they have been exposed to the game for so long. I&#39;m sorry but this may not be the case. Our coaches&#39; system and philosophies are likewise logging behind. This is testament to the result of our play internationally. Using the excuse of not knowing international play is absurd. This only means they&#39;re not expanding their horizons and knowledge in coaching. This is why i think i haven&#39;t seen much improvement in our level of coaching in the country. Coaches have a big role in honing the skills of our players. This is why they are very important.<br /><br />I understand the sentiments of our local coaches in protesting a foreign coach as a national coach or a coach in any of the leagues. Congrats to Smart Gilas though medyo di ba hone ang skills nung ibang players, medyo nagkakalat pa. I like their system &#39;coz they move around the ball to find the open guy. For me, it&#39;s a draw considering the fact na hindi masyadong nakapag-practice ang RP team. One-on-one lamang ang PBA, pero as a team it&#39;s Smart Gilas. I am not fully convinced na they will dominate &#39;coz they rely heavily on CJ Giles. If Giles is not in Smart Gilas it would be a different team. It was a pity that the PBA did not listent to SBP when they offered Toroman to coach the Powerade team in Tianjin. It was also a pity that Yeng did not even consult Toroman for tips on how to coach in the FIBA sanctioned tournament. Pride is what killed our basketball development for over 10 years now. I hope that this time, we will all wake up to the realities of the Global stage and acknowledge that we need someone from the outside like Toroman to help us out of our obsolete coaching and playing system.
