Ateneo and Far Eastern University clash in Sunday's lone game with the winner moving on to the Final Four phase of the Shakey's V-League Season 7 second conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
The two squads split their first two games in the season ending tournament, but the momentum could side with the Lady Tamaraws after pulling off a 25-21, 27-25, 11-25, 25-18 win over the Lady Eagles on Thursday that forced the playoff match for the last semis seat.
"I think momentum is on our side. As long as our intensity remains the same, we have a strong chance of entering the Final Four," said FEU coach Nestor Pamilar.
The winner will have the difficult task of facing top seed San Sebastian in the semis round that is set to start on September 9, Thursday. Second ranked Adamson takes on No. 3 Lyceum in the other Final Four match.
Guest players Rachel Anne Daquis and Michelle Carolino together with mainstay Cherry Mae Vivas combined for 50 hits during their last outing. The three are expected to once again FEU's attacks.
Ateneo, meanwhile, hopes that Thai import Booyuen Surasawadee could finally get the needed support from the locals led by guest player Alyssa Valdez and mainstays Fille Cainglet, Gretchen Ho and Bea Pascual. - JVP, GMANews.TV
