DUBAI– Smart Gilas Pilipinas, drawing strength from the return of Jamal Sampson and the sterling efforts of guards Chris Tiu and JV Casio, subdued the Fadi El Khatib-led Champville of Lebanon, 77-71, in the Dubai Invitational at the Al Ahli Club here Saturday.
Once again cheered on by throngs of overseas Filipino workers here, the Nationals overcame El Khatib’s 40-point explosion as they bounced back from a loss to Al Jalaa of Syria Friday.
Sampson returned to action after sitting out the Syria game due to a sore knee, coming through with 13 rebounds, 11 points and two blocks as he gave the Filipinos a big boost against the Lebanese.
The 6-foot-11 NBA veteran imposed his strength at the paint, thus, opening up space for the Smart Gilas outside gunners.
Chris Tiu, the former Ateneo hotshot who’s now a popular television personality, scored a team-high 17 points, including a triple that shattered the 63-all count.
After taking the 66-63 lead, the Filipinos never looked back en route to the crucial win that brought the team back in strong contention for the knockout games.
The Filipinos automatically make the quarterfinals if they beat Zain of Jordan in their 5 p.m. (9 p.m. Manila time) showdown Sunday. (21st Dubai Int'l Basketball Tournament Free Live Streaming:)
Jordan is playing here with its national team reinforced by three imports including PBA veteran Damien Cantrell.
Casio, who erupted for 23 points against the Syrians, knocked in 14 points this time with 10 coming from the foul line.
“Jamal was a big help today, providing us his inside game. If he plays until the end of the tournament, I’m optimistic of our chances because we’ll play at the level of what we can really do,” said Smart Gilas coach Rajko Toroman.
Smart Gilas bucked El Khatib’s 40-point output, including nine in their decisive third-quarter romp.
“I told the boys it’s okay for El Khatib to score much for as long as the other Lebanese don’t. We didn’t make a special tactic. We just took the other Lebanese players out of the game. That was the key,” said Toroman.
Champville mentor Ghassan Sarkiss was impressed of Smart Gilas.
“They played very well, very organized. They have good outside shooters and they know how to play the game,” said Sarkiss.
“They outplayed us. They deserved to win because they had a better approach on the game and they played with a lot of heart,” Sarkiss added.
Notes: Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas executive director Noli Eala, arriving here Friday afternoon, helped a lot in convincing Jamal Sampson to play against the Lebanese despite a hurting left knee ...Rico Mondejar, formerly a radio disc jockey back home, is the English-speaking game barker here. He provides the music familiar to Filipinos - the Papaya Song and the Black-eyed Peas’ Bebot.
The scores:
Smart Gilas 77 – Tiu 19, Casio 14, Baracael 11, Sampson 11, Aguilar 10, Lassiter 5, Barroca 4, Ballesteros 3, Ababou 0, Cawaling 0.
Champville 71– El Khatib 40, Rida 10, Danielson 7, Thompson 4, Sakris 3, Martinez 3, Hawi 2, Cox 2.

Iba ka talaga toroman, keep it up go go go gilas
smart gilas magaling sa tune up games tournament that does not even matter but when it comes to fiba qualifying 100% sure we would not reach the quarter finals mas okay pa barako bull kaysa sa gilas hahaha
Bring in Gian Chui.... Guys we dont need pro's petics na ung mga un.... let the kids play because this kids will exert more effort than the pro's.... These kids has a lot of things to prove... And sana even though smart ang financer Team Pilipinas nlng sana ung name ng team.... GO Philippines.... peace...

smart gilas magaling sa tune up games tournament that does not even matter but when it comes to fiba qualifying 100% sure we would not reach the quarter finals mas okay pa barako bull kaysa sa gilas hahaha
WELL HIS PRESENCE INTIMIDATED THE OPPONENT. ANG LEBANON D NILA TAKE ADVANTAGE UNG PAG NAWALA SI SAMPSON. BUT I GAVE SALUTE TO CASIO LAKAS LOOB SUMALAKSAK LALO NA SA LAST QUARTER AT PENALTY KALABAN. HIS FREETHROWS ANG BUMUHAY SA SMART.
STILL I RECOMMEND TO MAKE IT STRONGER. ADD ONE MORE CENTER PAMALIT KAY SAMPSON. AND ONE TALL POINT GUARD. SI BAROCA MADRIBBLE LAGI NAAGAWAN SA CROSS OVER NYA. MA FANCY.KEEP CASIO BUT NOT BAROCA. GET A TALLER POINTGUARD PARA MAY MATCH ANG TALLER GUARDS NG KALABAN.
nice job gilas!!!! congratz!!! pinilit lng talaga maglaro ni sampson and it paid off kahit na iika-ika sya. complements to casio and tiu the played superb basketball. undersize talaga sila lalo na sa middle pag wala si sampson, a little bit of addition sa line-up with williams and maybe another big guy at least standing 6'10 may laban na tayo sa fiba tournaments. well best of luck sa gilas pinas natin and hopefully lumakas pa!
i've watched the game live..... galing ni aguilar, tiu at casio! ung no.1 nila 40 points ginawa!
Sana ma disbanned ang Rain or shine sa PBA the only way na makuha si Norwood para sa guard rotation ng Gilas as well as chris lutz & Pringle.
Napunuod ng live last night dito sa Dubai! Ang galeng!!
SANA!
C Jamal Sampson 6-11
C Junmar Fajardo 6-9 (I think makakahabol ito)
PF Japeth Aguilar 6-9
PF Jason Ballesteros 6-7
SF Anthony Washington 6-7 (nangarap! we need his 3point shooting sa bigman spot)
SF Kelly Williams 6-6
SF Arwind Santos 6-4 (he will be great under Toroman)
SG Chris Lutz 6-3
SG Marcio Lassiter 6-2
PG Gabe Norwood 6-5 (tall & athletic PG)
PG JB Casio 5-9
PG Chris Tiu 5-11
Reserves:
PG Marc Barocca
SG Dylan Ababou
PF Rabeh Al-Hussaini
I think this is the best line-up dahil nandito parin ang core ng Gilas plus the PBA players that Toroman wants excluding J-wash hehe but I relly think we need a 3poit shooting big man like him. Si Greg Slowter palitan na walang maitutulong ito sa ngayon kailangan pa matrain ng husto, siguro 3 to 4 years pa
to the one who wrote this : smart gilas magaling sa tune up games....
Don't be so bitter. Are you a PBA fan? I was a PBA fan too but those guys don't deserve to be on the Philippine team except for a few players that gave their all. Most of them are lousy and care only about the money.
These kids are young, skinny, and unexperienced but have the heart of a lion. They'll fight for our flag to the death.
Go to the east……… go to the west……… smart gilas is the BEST!!!!!!
Sabi ko na ba ga eh!!!! Walang malaking nakakapuwing!!!! Go gilas!!!!
Team B ba ng Lebanon yung tinalo. Baka hindi yung mga national players ?
CONGRATS smartgilas, it was a big big achievement beating a lebanese pro team which I heard has 3 imports and its national team cage hero fadi el khatib. naglaro ba c khatib? I agree medyo maliit nga mga point guards natin, in fact dey are not natural PG, but still dey are young and hav plenty of rooms 4 improvement. medyo ballhug nga c barroca and has d tendency of playing out of control. I tink dats d tendency of a talented PG duuring his early baskeball career, d likes of jhonny abarrientos and miller miller also had d same tendency during deyr early pro careers yet as dey matured dey have gradualy become beter team players and less individualistic. I'm confident dat wid toroman's guidance and d rich exposure of Gilas team in internat'l competitions barroca and d rest of d guys wil improve drastically
El Khatib is free throw king of Asia laging kasi tinatawagan ng foul yng bantay niya kahit konting dikit.
idol talaga si casio! si barroca madalas nageexplode pero if i would chose between casio and barroca i would chose casio by far, mas may shooting at mas matalino maglaro!

Napanood mo ba yun lumaban ang SMART GILAS
sa FIBA Asia Champions Cup?
FIBA sanctioned tournament yun.
May (2)IMPORTS ang kalabang ASIAN COUNTRIES.
Ang SMART GILAS walang IMPORT.
Walang AGUILAR. Walang LASSITER.
Natalo pa nila ang SOUTH KOREA ng DALAWANG BESES!
Ang POWERADE, talo sa SOUTH KOREA ng DALAWANG BESES.
LOL.. guys it would have been a stronger RP team pag PBA+ 1 import ang pinadala..
imagine gilas without an import in real FIBA competition.. hahahah
cno2 gumwa pre????
cnu gumwa kgbi???
The adjustments made in the 4th quarter won the game. Aguilar was a revelation, he was able to stop khatib in this quarter. Limiting Lebanon to 13 pts in the fourth was a mean feat. Congratulations!!!
smart gilas magaling sa tune up games tournament that does not even matter but when it comes to fiba qualifying 100% sure we would not reach the quarter finals mas okay pa barako bull kaysa sa gilas hahaha

Barroca is ineffective as a point guard he looks more to shoot than to pass or make plays unlike Casio and Tiu. Iba talaga ang may 7footer, Sampson makes a big difference when he's in the game even Aguilar looks better with another big guy inside. Gilas is now showing it's character and is learning how to win already. Nice game Gilas! Sayang talaga si Maierhoffer, Williams and Norwood if they can't join the team. Ballesteros is a revelation because he knows his role now, he can be an enforcer. Iba yung may big man at least 2 sa loob.
Andy Jao
sa CHampville pa NANALO...lol,,,my pinakamagandang line up s lebanese league dhil ky khatib....we need 6'2 and above guards....PBA has still strong players for fiba
REVAMP P rn...
ung dpat na line up jan ay:
sampson 6'11-dominant in the paint
washington 6'8-pf/c with mobility
y. de ocampo 6'9-center with outside shooting
raymundo 6'7-team captain
thoss 6'7-high jumper and dunker
williams-all around player
norwood-all around player
dillinger-left handed slasher
canaleta-dunker
reyes-6'2 slasher
ritualo- 6'2 3 point shooter
aguilar-sf/pf/c can shoot 3 pts
james yap-6'2 shooter/SLASHER
VILLANUEVA-6'7 pf can defend well on 6'9 oponents
maierhoffer- 6'6 promising rookie
caguioa-shooter
coach: toroman
sotto-6'7
mathias-6'4
marc yee-6'3
arboleda-5'11
ranidel de ocampo-6'5
i naturalize si Sonny Alvarado or si Rob Parker
*puro kayo naglolook down smart gilas eh wala naman kau natulong sa team, ano ba pnagmalaki nyo, PBA rp national team? eh tambak na ng smart gilas eh eh, ano kung may redbull? let them win, der just one of bunch pba team that doesnt need to be jerk off!
Actually, since this a team for the future, I would take out guys like Kelly Williams, Caguioa, Rico Villanueva and other pro veterans na. If I were to get from the pros, sana either rookie or sophomore level lang para mas tatagal sa team. LONG TERM VISION NA.
Anyone from earlier than 2007 Draft, huwag na.
So... maybe we can see Gabe Norwood, Jared Dillinger and Rico Maierhoffer at best.
The PBA will never allow its players to joint SBP's basketball program. Why? because the current PBA Chairman Lito Alvarez is also the Deputy Secretary General of BAP who is locked in a dispute with the SBP for the control of Philippine Basketball.
So even though we stage a rally in front of the PBA office, they will never allow a single PBA player to play for our country, kahit benchwarmer ng PBA team pa yan.
Luluha kayo ng bato.
Those who downplayed Smart Gilas RP Team might just be jealous or envy or have nothing to do with their lives. As filipinos we should support our team whoever maybe composing that team, we must support the entire organization that supported it, to give them moral and spiritual support which are needed to the success of every endeavors. If your purpose of downplaying the team is because of jealousy or envy, you are a son of satan and you have no place in the kingdom of God.
If you're truly a PBA fan you should know what's happening in PBA..hindi pruo kajologan lang pinagsasabi nyo...
Mahirap satin eh pruo tayo crab mentality.
Period!
Wag puro satsat...nagbasa at alamin ang nangyayari!
to those hoping to get maierhoffer on the gilas team, ASA na lang kayo! Tinalikuran na nga nya yung RP team and the country itself when he decided to join the draft last year, you think you can still make him join Smart Gilas considering he already has a live contract in the PBA? wish ko lang na maging maikli lang ang career nito sa PBA... money over his own country?! pffft! we don't need those type of people in this team where the heart to serve is of big importance. to those believers of this team, lets continue supporting them despite the many know-it-alls around, they'll improve in time. they're still young yet they've already gone a long way since they started so lets just hope and pray that they mature in time.:)
it doesn't necessarily naman na sa pba kumuha ng players kc un kulang ng gilas un frontliner..maliliit din naman mga 4&5 players sa pba mahihirapan din sa mga higante sa asia at me mga edad na din...un mga young players naman maliit din, kelangan ng gilas un young players na matatangkad...maybe another fil-ams or naturalized or even home grown basta makakatulong ni jamal sa ilalim...hirap ang team pg wala c jamal...ok naman sana at nagiimprove un gilas pero skin lang naman kun makakakuha pa ng frontliner, one or two big men...mas maganda chance natin sa mga darating na tournament...
I've watched the games live and one thing that I have noticed with our players is their determination to win for their country. They have a BIG Heart. These are young talented guys despite of their small frames and heights,100% they will play hard for simply for the love of the game and country.Smart Gilas team is a developmental basketball program which aim to recruit and develop players (filam or pure pinoys) to form a team to represent philippines in international competitions like asian games, fiba and olympics.
The Smart Gilas team is fielded here in this Dubai Tournament to give the players more exposure in international competition. To have a greater glimpse of what kind of competition, middle eastern teams can bring to the table. And having seen these middle eastern teams play I cant help but noticed how they have improved the quality of their basketball.Sart Guilas is still in the process recruiting players to beef-up the line up. Certainly, we need a bigger point guard to add to the rotation of tiu, barroca anf casio. We need bigger guys to help sampson in center position, greg slaugter is a no no.
I still beleive that maybe 3 PBA players will be needed in the line-up. Arwind Santos(for his all around play), Gabe Norwood and Kelly Williams for their offense. These 3 players will be a key additions to the current team, but this will all depend on politics between pba teams and smart guilas as these players have contracts with their respective teams.
For now, to all pinoy basketball fans out there, I succomb you guys to believe in this program and let us support our team. our RP Team, mabuhay tayong lahat.
Guys, baracael played well last night as well, defensively and on offense.
barroca still having an off-night. Cris Tiu improved his game a lot.
instead na kumuha sa pba ng players, sbp will scout still undiscovered fil am players in the US and countryside. as i observed fil-am players are more excited to join our national team, the smart gilas team than our full-blooded pinoys like paul lee and maeirhoffer. d ko lang alam kung full blooded tong si maeirhoffer pero i dont care. kulangot lang sya sa paningin ko.
I've watched both games against Syria and Lebanon Live here in Dubai. David against Goliath in comparisson but Smart Gilas showed them what we can do. Maliit man mga players natin may fighting spirit naman. Magaling yung Lassiter. Ballesteros, Casio at Barocca walang inuurungan kahit malaki. Tiu, great shooter and leader. Jamal, kahit medyo iika ika gave his best, great rebounder at intimidated ang mga kalaban pag nasa loob sya. For sure malaki pa magiging improvement ng team habang tumatagal silang magkakasama. Go Go Go Smart Gilas Pilipinas.
Let us all hope and pray that Jamal will be 100% available and ready for tomorrow's game. Jordan is a tough team with 3 american imports.
si Asi taulava kunin nyo backup center--EL-matador
how can we watch the game?? we downloaded it already but we cant watch it!! please help!
Just who the hell is Ronnie Aguilar?
Aguilar, who stands 7 feet and weighs 250 lbs, plays varsity ball for the Colorado State University (CSU) Rams. CSU is a Division I school in the US NCAA competing in the Mountain West Conference and is the same school that produced NBA players Joe Vogel, Milt Palacio, Matt Nelson, and Pat Durham.

Is Ronnie Aguilar a FIL AM?
Ok, let me answer that. He was redshirt in the 2005-06 season with the Rams. This season, he played in only 11 games, averaging 0.2 ppg and 0.3 rpg as a reserve center for the Rams. The star player of the Rams is 7-0 Jason Smith, an NBA prospect. The Rams, however, has high regard for his talent and potential. Aguilar can score on the block and still has a lot of room to improve in his game.
Last April, he was involved in an off-court altercation with teammate Xavier Kilby. The 6-8 Kilby pointed a gun at Aguilar after an argument. The incident led to Kilby's arrest and subsequent dismissal from the team.
Ronnie Aguilar was a legend back in high school at John Marshall High, at Los Angeles, California. A multi-sport star, he played basketball, volleyball and football and earned three letters in volleyball and one in football as a wide receiver. In basketball, he was named team MVP and holds the school's records in blocked shots, points and rebounds. A teammate at John Marshall High was 6-5 Fil-am Edwin Jason Escueta.
For all his exploits, little is known about Ronnie Aguilar's roots. He was born June 24, 1987 to parents Lilian Romero and Gabriel Aguilar. Based on his photos, he looks to have part Filipino in him, but there are also a dozen Latinos playing division I basketball in the US that have the same features. Is Ronnie Aguilar a Fil-am? The CSU Athletics Department already refuted the claim that Ronnie had Filipino lineage. But then I also trust the RP team's brainthrusts that ascertains that the 7-0 Aguilar has Filipino blood. If he is a legit Fil-Am, he will be a good addition to the RP team. We need guys like him, and Japeth Aguilar, Gian Chiu, and Gregory Slaughter, and other tall young Filipino ballers to anchor our future RP national teams.
hirap sa inyo eh. kpg talo gilas puro negative ibinabato nyo. bobo dyan mahina doon lagi ang sinasabi nyo.. tpos pag nanalo eh puro papuri nmn ang sinasabi nyo sa gilas.. ang gugulo nyo.. -crashburns
A report by Gerry Ramos at People's Journal bared that PBA comish Noli Eala is considering the likes of Virginia's 6-11 Greg Slaughter, George Mason's 6-5 do-it-all guard Gabe Norwood, Bobby Parks' son 6-3 Ray Parks, Desert Christian High's 6-9 Gian Chiu, Western Kentucky's 6-9 Japeth Aguilar, Cerritos College's 6-1 Ryan Reyes, Holy Names University's 6-5 Nick Stephens, UTEP's 6-7 Joe Devance and Flagler College's 6-5 Rob Reyes for the national team training pool. And wait there's another... Colorado State's 19-year old center Ronnie Aguilar.
Just who the hell is Ronnie Aguilar?
Ok, let me answer that. Aguilar, who stands 7 feet and weighs 250 lbs, plays varsity ball for the Colorado State University (CSU) Rams. People should forget about the PBA representing the National team. The PBA agenda does not fit into the National team simply because the PBA is a commercial league and there is a huge difference between a commercial league and International competition. Smart Gilas is more of a long term basketball program that given the chance will bring back honor and prestige to the country. The PBA has been representing the country in ASIAn stints since the 1990 but has been proven unsuccessful. Hats off to Smart Gilas Team for playing their guts out. They will be very competetive in a few months time come ASIAN games. If it was PBA to repesent the country then they would still be cramming to form the National Team at this stage because of their grilling schedule as observed for the last two decades.

kung kukunin man lng yung bigman nang pba(except of kelly williams , williams deserve another chance) mas mabuting pang kunin nyu si demarcus cousins...
kung SF ang hanap nang team... SF na do it all ( shoot, play defense, pass, rebound, ) si Christian Standhardinger yung kailangan...

PG.
yun ang style ni toroman. a lot of point guards..
my 4 point guards sa team
TIU,Casio,Barroca,
TULAD NGAYON MINSAN DI MAKAPAGLARO ANONG NANGYARI???? ANONG MAGAWA NG MGA PRO SA TEAM???? IIHIAN LANG SILA NI GILES SA ERE NYAN. NAHIYA LANG SI TOTOMAN UMORDER NG ISA PA. PERO YAN TALAGA ANG STANDARD NG INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL. ATLEAST 2 BIG CENTERS LIKE 7 FOOTERS PATAAS NA MALAKAS, THAT WAY CONTENDER KA NA NYAN.
Gilas don't need PBA players.... They don't need mierhoffer, they don't need Kelly williams nor any player in PBA..... The only thing they need is support of every filipino who believe in their talent....
The stupid thing to be is being a crab!!!
pahabol..... Gilas are long term team that is honed to be a competitive team that is ask to wualify for the olympic..... toroman is ask to pic players who are young and talented and doesn't have existing contracts......
~Ian~
You SHUT UP ALL! Pathetic. Ridiculous. Dont count on Smart Gilas team. Much more on PBA players on national team. Filipinos are midgets compared with other international teams. There will be no London Olympics 2012 for Philippine basketball team. No way! This is only a SHOW for people hungry of fame. Dont be so naive of whats goin' on. Can't you see that?! Wake up guys! Dream on...
Congratulation!!!!
Kaya yan... aabotin natin quarter final we believe coach Toroman can handle the team to bring back the Philippine glory in basketball world because ha has experienced how to counter the the middle east NT's strenght since he handle before the Iran NT alam nya ang kulang sa Gilas team. For the national cause and our pride to recognize again in basketball world if coach Toroman if ever need an additional player from professional rank(PBA) sana they(PBA) help our compaign to complete our mission to enter 2012 olympic this not an invidual pride it is ONE MISSION, ONE TEAM, ONE COUNTRY, ONE FLAG, OUR GLORY!! Its time now MABUHAY!!!!
Nadali mo kabayan!!
Remember this is a developmental team picking up international exposure, unless di nyo alam ibig sabihin nun. Dont expect them to win all their games and give negative feedback if they lose (worst even if they win). IRAN never win all their international games during their development stage even under coach Toroman. But their experience showed up in time when it was needed. And the rest was History.

to those hoping to get maierhoffer on the gilas team, ASA na lang kayo! Tinalikuran na nga nya yung RP team and the country itself when he decided to join the draft last year, you think you can still make him join Smart Gilas considering he already has a live contract in the PBA? wish ko lang na maging maikli lang ang career nito sa PBA... money over his own country?! pffft! we don't need those type of people in this team where the heart to serve is of big importance. to those believers of this team, lets continue supporting them despite the many know-it-alls around, they'll improve in time. they're still young yet they've already gone a long way since they started so lets just hope and pray that they mature in time.:)
we are very happy nanalo ang Smart Gilas team. pero let's be realistic guys...nahirapan sila ng husto. sinUwerte lng tayo sa end game kaya nanalo. this is not the way we want. kung gusto natin maqualify sa Olympic, there are lots to do pa. ok sabihin ng training lang nila ito and not meant to win, pero kita natin ang mga pagkukulang ng team. mag iimprove pa ung talent bawat isa oo pero not enough to win big games.kaya sana mabasa ito ng Smart Gilas mnagement..WE NEED TO ADD A RELIABLE CENTER TO SUBSTITUE SAMPSON. ANOTHER TALL WINGMAN WHO CAN SHOOT FROM OUTSIDE AND CAN ALSO DEFEND. PARA MAS COMFORTABLE SI JAPETH AGUILAR SA NO.3 OR 4 POSITION.pointguards??? pede si Casio at Tiu. not sure on Barroca. maybe another tall PG can be added to match the tall PGs ng mga kalaban.also 1 deadly shooter ( Caidic caliber or Ritualo) but a younger version para malayo mararating.
This Team improving but need more for Olympic standard.Talent is not just enough. we need HEIGHT.

At first i dont like chris tiu but after watching him play in pba and international im starting to like him now hes a good leader and dun sa mga nagsasabing paartista sya, well yea he is pero overall sya yung nagdadala ng team pag kailangan i think gilas should keep casio and tiu but not barroca mdyo may pagkabakaw sya. ballesteros is now improving, aguilar is ok but he needs to hit the gym, slowter man! this kid should improve and once he dooes! he will be a big factor for gilas 6'11 with a great body! thats good! baracael is our slasher, lutz will be in the team in march i guess and with lassister! dude this team is goin to be a monster! and this line up is not complete yet! we might have one more big import who can defend rebound and score! and stanhardinger will never be on the team! havent you guys heard about it?
we are very happy nanalo ang Smart Gilas team. pero let's be realistic guys...nahirapan sila ng husto. sinUwerte lng tayo sa end game kaya nanalo. this is not the way we want. kung gusto natin maqualify sa Olympic, there are lots to do pa. ok sabihin ng training lang nila ito and not meant to win, pero kita natin ang mga pagkukulang ng team. mag iimprove pa ung talent bawat isa oo pero not enough to win big games.kaya sana mabasa ito ng Smart Gilas mnagement..WE NEED TO ADD A RELIABLE CENTER TO SUBSTITUE SAMPSON. PURO KAYO TIRA NG TIRA SA PBA! TRABAHO PINAGUUSAPAN NG MGA PLAYERS SA PBA..MAY MGA PAMILYA SILANG BINUBUHAY. DI SILA NAGNANAKAW O KAHIT ANOMAN.
KUNG GUSTO NYO SMART WALANG GILAS EDI GUSTUHIN NYO WAG NA LANG KAYONG MANIRA. LAHAT NG PLAYERS NG GILAS NA IYAN DREAM NA MAKAPASOK SA PBA.
ANO GAGWIN NILA MATAPOS MATALO SA FIBA? SA ASIAN GAMES? TUTUNGANGA O MAG LALARO NG SIPA?
NANALO LANG SA ISANG MAHINANG KOPONAN ,CLUB TEAM NG LEBANON. AKALA MO NANALO NA NG TOURNAMENT. ANG TEAM PILIPINAS DATE JONES CUP ANG IPINANALO PERO WALANG KAYABANGYABANG(CENTENNIAL).. TEAM AUSTRALIA NGA TINATAMBAKAN , SYRIA LEBANON AT CHINA PINAPANIS NG PBA LED NATIONAL TEAM...ITONG GILAS MAY IMPORT NA NGA BAKA TEAM GHANA DI PA MATALO.. O TEAM SRI LANKA PAHIRAPAN PA SILA.

tiu,casio,norwood
lutz,dillinger,lasiter
williams,washington
aguilar,ballesteros,
sampson,cousins
china tabak d2 sa team n 2
It is so much easier to find faults on players than to find what they did right. It takes a great mind to see what is obvious. In a clean sheet of paper, put a speck of dirt and most people will notice dirt rather than see the much more bigger part which is clean.
Nice job Toroman, and keep it up Smart Gilas, and in due time the great majority of Filipinos will appreciate what you guys are doing.
i watched live ung games ng gilas d2 sa dubai, napansin ko lng n kht kulng cla sa height ung determination ng mga players manalo is andon!they are proud playing for the country and flag! then approachable p cla at humble! lalo n cna chris tiu. baracael at japeth!c casio parang kasama ko lng sa office! hehehe liit lng kc pero superb maglaro at may puso!gud luck sa game nyo mmya guys! d ako mkkapanood, may work kc ako at magccmba!sna manalo kayo mmya! AIM HIGH GILAS.....
See how evident this time the team is developing as well as the players themselves. I still remember before how the gilas were looked down in terms of abilities and skills when it comes to international tournament since they are all coming from amateur and collegiate ranks. But when I got to see them playing here in Dubai, they have shown how a Filipino is fighting for his flag. They were like pros than what I have expected. These players have no fear considering their heights. Aim high GILAS, OFWs here in Dubai are all out supporting behind your sacrifices. Mabuhay ang Pinoy.
Guys,
One of our friends in IBN posted a link from where you can view FULL RECORDED GAME of GILAS against Champville of Lebanon.
This will enable you to see the winning moment of GILAS! Ü
To Admin, hope you can DL the entire game and post it here for convinience.

Thanks!
Later don't forget to watch Gilas against Zain **cough** **cough** Jordan NT **cough** **cough** plus three Imports **cough** **cough**
For me, i ont think we need pba players, just concentrate getting 1 swing man player who plays #3 position like about 6'5 -67 and bata pa mga 21 y/o who plays like seigle, danny.they could recruit na fil am sa US or other country.. Then we badly need Fajardo ng cebu. Thats it! yehey lapit na game.. against jordan zain..--sydney au
nagamit kaya si slauther?
how true is d report dat smart gilas management is venturing d posibility of 7 foot ronie aguilar joining d team wid d suspicion dat aguilar has filipino roots? di ba sinabi na ng skul ni aguilar na wala sya dugung pinoy, dat he might be of latin american descent?
add mike silungan, STATE U's up and coming 6'4 scoring machine. wait for him in the next UAAP season, the guy plays the 2-3 spots very well. i think he'll fit toroman's system perfectly
i dont want 2 sound kill joy and while we recognized d merits of Gilas' victory over Champville-Lebanon, I just wud like 2 emphasize dat a lebanese club team isn't as competitive as its national team even as d club team is reinforced by 3 imports. iba ang adrenalin ng lebanese players if dey are playing 4 deyr nat'l team specialy in a major international tournament like FIBA-Asia. we must be glad dat Gilas won but I hope it doesn't give us a false sense of security

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Nguyain at lunukin mo nalang, then isuka mo tapus kainin uli yang 2500 mo. Baka tutubo ka pa sa kayabangan mo. Ano, magsasalita ka pa?
